Issue #2: April 21, 2025
Hi there,
Welcome to the second "Cyger Selects" newsletter.
In the first week, we've grown the newsletter list to 70 people. Thanks for being a part of this list.
My goal with this newsletter is simply to share the best domain name industry posts to ensure you don’t miss them.
However, I felt the first post by @TonyNames needed some additional context so I added some commentary.
I also created a very short walk-through video on how to clear cookies because @ShaneCultra pointed out an ongoing issue at GoDaddy.
Have a great week,
Mike

#1️⃣ Singular versus plural

Today's Keyword Research Tip
Venture is taken in 360 extns, while Ventures is taken in 189 Extns only
But when used as a Suffix, Venture has 73K results vs Ventures with 207K
So when used as a Suffix, Ventures is better
No need to use your imagination
Just use Dotdb :)

This is one of the great nuances of domain name investing.
There is no one rule for everything.
If I could own Venture or Ventures in .com, I'd take the singular.
However, what Tony is saying is that the plural is better as a second word in a two-word combination.
But there are exceptions to every rule. For example, if I could own Hotel or Hotels in .com, I'd take the plural.
The key is not to follow rules. Don't blindly believe what I or some "guru" tells you. Think for yourself and understand what makes something better or worse.
#2️⃣ Short but long enough
![]() | Darpan ![]() @darpanmunjal | ![]() |
Just analyzed the SLD length of the last 5K domain sales on Atom
Over 57% of sales were in the 7–10 character range
Short enough to remember, long enough to communicate meaning
Doesn’t mean long names don’t sell—
but all else equal, shorter names win more often than not

#3️⃣ PSA: Delete GoDaddy cookies
![]() | Domain Shane ![]() @ShaneCultra | ![]() |
Having trouble navigating @GoDaddy domain auctions? Getting "wait" or having it lag? If you are using Chrome you may need to regularly clear out the cookies. Each visit puts over 400 MB of cookies to help you navigate but it also can slow you down. We want to bid and bid fast, this should help

I usually face cookie issues when trying to sign into the DCC (Domain Control Center), which I access by memory at dcc.godaddy.com.
Here's a quick walk-through of what I do almost every day to fix it:
